That virtually all the Scripts of Enoch contain much prophecy – nearly all having been accomplished as history has clearly recorded – does not change the fact that admonitions and instructions to the Elect and Righteous are yet to manifest. Each generation has thought itself to be the last, mostly via ignorance and deliberate deception of and by the churches and religions. Ignoring "must" situations, such as the Third Temple, a temple of blasphemy at Jerusalem, which must exist to permit the Sign of Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet, is a prime example. In the sequence of the last DAYS, that great blasphemy must occur prior to the Battle of Armageddon which will be interrupted by the Second Coming or there would be no flesh – life of any kind – left on the planet! You shall make an index and a concordance complete in every form, cross referenced in every form or matter, that generations afterward shall not have to rely on explanations of men who do not really know, and thus can find the Holy Things for themselves! The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. Here, the key question is whether Fragment 7 comes before or after Fragment 6. If after, as we have placed it in our reconstruction, then the Messianic Nasi or 'Leader' would be alive after the events described in Fragment 6 and could he the one 'put to death'. This was our initial assessment. If before, then it is possible that the Messianic Leader does the 'putting to death' mentioned in the text, though such a conclusion flies in the face of the logic of the appositives like 'the Branch of David...' grouped after the expression 'the Nasi ha--'Edah', which would be clumsy even in Hebrew. Another question that will arise concerning this text is whether the individual who appears to be brought before 'the Leader of the Community' in Fragment 6 is the same as the one referred to in Fragment 7 by the pronoun 'him', if in fact a him' can be read into this line at all and not simply the plural of the verb, 'kill/killed'. In Hebrew the spelling is the same. The reader should keep in mind that whether there is any real sequentiality in these fragments or whether they even go together at all is conjectural, and these questions will probably not be resolved on the basis of the data before us. In favour of the Nasi ha--'Edah being killed - which, all things being equal, makes most sense if Fragment 7 is considered by itself only - even without the accusative indicator in Biblical Hebrew, 'et' there are many texts at Qumran and from the Second Temple period generally that are not careful about the inclusion of the object indicator in their Hebrew, including the Messiah of Heaven and Earth above and the Eighteen Benedictions mentioned above. Another counter example where the object indicator is not employed occurs m Column ü.12 of the Damascus Document, where reference is made to 'His Messiah making known the Holy Spirit', also mentioned above. Concerning whether our reconstruction of Line 4 of Fragment 7 attaching 'the Branch of David' to 'the Leader of the Community' is correct, it is interesting to note that not only is 'the Prophet Isaiah' mentioned in Line 1, but Line 2 quotes 11:1: 'A staff shall rise from the stem of Jesse and a shoot shall grow from his roots.' There even seems to be an allusion to its second line, 'the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him', in Line 6 of the Messiah of Heaven and Earth above, and we will see this same passage actually evoked at the end of the beautiful Chariots of Glory text in Chapter 7 below. This prophecy was obviously a favourite proof text at Qumran, as it very definitely was in early Christianity. But this prophecy has already been subjected to exegesis in the already-published Isaiah Commentary {a} from Cave 4. There are many such overlaps in Qumran exegeses, including that of the 'Star Prophecy' already noted. In 4QpIs{a}, the exegesis of Isa. 11:1- 3 is preceded by one of Isa. 10:33-4 about 'Lebanon being felled by a Mighty One' amid allusions to 'the warriors of the Kittim' and 'Gentiles'. This seems to be the case in the Messianic Leader (Nasi) text as well, where allusions to 'the Kittim' in other fragments - including 'the slain of the Kittim' abound, showing the context of the two exegeses to have been more or less parallel. These kinds of texts about 'the falling of the cedars of Lebanon' or 'Lebanon being felled by a Mighty One', as it is expressed in both texts, usually bear on the fall of the Temple or the priesthood. In Rabbinic literature, Isa. 10:3 3 -4 is interpreted in this way, and specifically and one might add definitively tied to the fall of the Temple in AD 70 (see ARN 4 and b. Girt 56a). Sometimes 'Lebanon' imagery, which like 'Kittim' is used across the board in Qumran literature, relates especially when the imagery is positive, to the Community leadership. The reference is to the 'whitening' imagery implicit in the Hebrew root 'Lebanon'. This is played upon to produce the exegesis, either to Temple, because the priests wore white linen there or to the Community Council, presumably because its members also appear to have worn white linen. Readers familiar with the New Testament will recognize 'Community' and 'Temple' here as basically parallel allusions, because just as Jesus is represented as 'the Temple' in the Gospels and in Paul, the Community Rule, using parallel spiritualized 'Temple' imagery in viii. 5 -6 and ix.6, pictures the Qumran Community Council as a 'Holy of Holies for Aaron and a Temple for Israel'. This imagery, as we shall see, is widespread at Qumran, including parallel allusions to 'atonement', 'pleasing fragrance', 'Cornerstone', and 'Foundation' which go with it. Completing the basic commonality in these texts, 4QpIs{a} also sympathetically evokes 'the Meek' and goes on to relate Isaiah 11:1's 'Staff' or 'Branch' to the 'Branch of David' in Jeremiah and Zechariah. Highlighting these Messianic and eschatological implications, it describes the Davidic 'Branch' as 'standing at the end of DAYS' (note the language of 'standing' again). In the process, it incorporates 'the Sceptre' language from the 'Star Prophecy', which will also reappear, as we shall The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. Translation (1) The words of the book that Michael spoke to the Angels of God [after he had ascended to the Highest Heaven.] (2) He said 'I found troops of fire there .. . (3) [Behold,] there were nine mountains, two to the eas[t and two to the north and two to the west and two] (4)[to the south. There I beheld Gabriel the Angel... I said to him, (5)'... and you rendered the vision comprehensible.' Then he said to me . .. (6) It is written in my book that the Great One, the Eternal Lord . . . (7) the sons of Ham to the sons of Shem. Now behold, the Great One, the Eternal Lord ...(8) when ... tears from . . . (9) Now behold, a city will be built for the Name of the Great One, [the Eternal Lord] . . . [And no] (10) evil shall be committed in the presence of the Great One, [the Eternal] Lord ...(11) Then the Great One, the Eternal Lord, will remember His creation [for the purpose of Good]... [Blessing and honor and praise](12)[be to] the Great One, the Eternal Lord. To Him belongs Mercy and to Him belongs . . . (13) In distant territories there will be a man ...(14) he is, and He will say to him, 'Behold this... (15) to Me silver and gold ...' 6. The New Jerusalem (4Q554) (Plate 3) The Aramaic work known as 'The New Jerusalem' has turned up in Qumran Caves 1, 2, 4, 5 and 11 with the most extensive portions coming from Caves 4 and 5. The author is obviously working under the inspiration of Ezekiel's vision of the new Temple or the Temple of the end of DAYS referred to above (Ezek. 40-48), which he elaborates or extends into the ideal picture of Jerusalem. This vision is reminiscent not only of Ezekiel's description of how he measures out the new Temple, but also of parts of the Temple Scroll from Qumran and the New Testament Book of Revelation. In the New Jerusalem the visionary, most likely Ezekiel himself though in the extant fragments no name is accorded him - is led around the city that will stand on the site of Zion. His companion, presumably an Angel - possibly even Gabriel or Michael of the previous visionary recitals - points out various structures while measuring them with a cane seven cubits long, i.e. about 10.5 feet. A precise understanding of the text remains elusive because of several problems: the use of rare or previously unknown vocabulary, the many breaks in the manuscripts, and the inherent difficulty of using words to convey ideas that really require an architectural drawing. In spite of these problems, these Cave 4 materials contribute substantially to our knowledge of the city that the author envisaged. The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. The issue of the Amalekites is a different one, but also interesting. Column 4.1 distinctly designates them as the issue of another questionable relationship with a concubine, i.e. 'fornication' again. 4.2-3's almost word-for-word evocation of a speech of Moses from Exod. 17:14 shows the modus operandi of the author, i.e. 1. he knows the entire Bible text (at least those books mentioned above), and 2. he is doing Biblical commentary on or exegesis of it. The addition of the eschatological phrase 'the last DAYS' in the same line, which our text deliberately adds to the speech attributed to Moses in Exod. 17:14, is also instructive. Otherwise both speeches are identical. This, of course, highlights the eschatological themes with which the text ends, as it does what is expected in 'the last times' regarding Amalek. This leads to another point. Moses predicts the absolute eradication of the Amalekites, i.e. their name would be 'blotted out from under Heaven'. Though the text in 4.1 refers to Saul's smiting the Amalekites (showing once again that the author knows that Biblical story as well), and it is possible to think that for him, this fulfilled the Biblical prophecy, the point is that Saul did not do so. Samuel had put the Amalekites under ban, but Saul did not carry this out, and even though, according to the Bible, he later repented of this, he was 'rejected' (note - again the use of the tell-tale word ma’as repeatedly throughout the Biblical account). Saul's failure to do this leads directly to the anointment of David in 1 Sam. 16. This is crucial, and the author of our text is most surely aware of it. But that is what he is interested in - the anointment of David and the elevation of Judah to be set forth in an eschatological manner in the interpretation of the 'Shiloh Prophecy' that follows. With the deftest hand and the most delicate of brush strokes, our author is doing extremely sophisticated Biblical criticism. Also illustrative is the completely unbending and militant attitude in evidence here. This is absolutely characteristic of the attitude of Qumran and is consistent across the corpus. No peaceful Essenes these. The addition of 'the last DAYS' or 'end of DAYS' to Moses' speech is also then purposeful and clearly eschatological. Since Saul failed to do it, the memory of Amalek will only 'be erased from under Heaven' properly in 'the last DAYS'. And who will do it? Clearly the Messiah, with whom the text closes. Column 5 moves on to Judah. The exegesis it contains has to be considered the climax of the work and for our purposes, exegesis generally at Qumran. Nor are we any longer in the realm of Biblical rewrite or condensation, but exegesis pure and simple. This takes as its starting point Jacob's blessing on Judah in Gen. 49:10: 'The Sceptre shall not pass from Judah, nor the Staff from between his feet until the coming of the Shiloh to whom the peoples will gather.' In an exegesis of the most far-reaching eschatological significance, Column 5.1 interprets 'the Sceptre', also mentioned in the Star Prophecy in Num. 24 - the 'Star' and the 'Sceptre' are equivalent - in terms of the Government. It will be recalled that the latter prophecy is also interpreted, as we have seen above, in the Damascus Document. Though the first part of the exegesis of the Shiloh Prophecy is missing from the present document, it is clear that this is to involve a Davidic descendant, i.e. someone from 'the seed' of David mentioned in Line 5.5, which was so important in Christian Messianic expectations we've mentioned. In 5.2 the 'Staff or 'Law-Giver' (the Mehokkek ) in the Shiloh Prophecy is interpreted in terms of 'the Covenant of the Kingdom'. In Lines 3 -4, the 'feet' in this prophecy are interpreted as the leaders or military commanders of Israel and finally, most significantly of all, 'Shiloh' is distinctly identified as 'the Messiah of Righteousness'. That he is to be a descendant of David is made explicit in Line 5.5 as we have seen. This Mehokkek or 'Staff' is also mentioned in another prophecy from Num. 2 1:18. Like the Star Prophecy from Num. 24 that follows it, this too is interpreted in the Damascus Document (vi.3 - 11). In Column vii. 2 0 of the Damascus Document, the 'Sceptre' referred to in the Star Prophecy is definitively interpreted in terms of the Nasi ha--'Edah/'the Leader of the Community', the subject of the text by that name in Chapter 1. In the interpretation of the Mehokkek prophecy that precedes it, 'Damascus' is mentioned, from which the Damascus Document takes its name. So are 'the penitents of Israel', who are also mentioned in the exegesis of Ezekiel's 'sons of Zadok' prophecy two columns prior to this in Column iv. These 'penitents' - called 'the Priests' in the Column iv exegesis - 'go out from the land of Judah' in both exegeses 'to dwell in the land of Damascus'. The 'Staff' is delineated as the 'seeker after the Torah'; and the 'well', which he digs in the Num. 21 reference, is again 'the Torah'. The 'staves' in Num. 21, i.e. the Laws, are what they (the Mehokkek's followers) are commanded to walk in 'during all the Era of Evil' until 'the One who pours out Righteousness (Yoreh ha-Zedek) arises (or stands up) at the end of DAYS.' Here the 'Messiah of Righteousness', i.e. Mashiah ha-Zedek resonating with Yoreh ha-Zedek above and other equally pregnant usages, is definitely identified with 'the Branch of David'. But this expression is also mentioned in the Messianic Leader (Nasi) text in Chapter 1 above. This now brings all these usages full circle, including the Nasi ha-'Edah ('the Leader of the Community') called 'the Star' in CD, vii above. As we have seen, too, 'peoples' in the Shiloh Prophecy above is in some sense an important eschatological usage at Qumran. In the present text in Line 5.4, it gives way to 'His people', 'the Covenant of whose Kingdom was given unto him (i.e. the Messianic 'Branch' or 'Star') forever'. Put another way, one has irrefutable proof here that the Messianic 'Leader', mentioned in the text by that name, is to be identified with this 'Messiah of Righteousness', because the allusion to 'the Branch of David' is used in both as an identifying epithet. This makes the matter of whether the Messianic Leader is doing the killing or being killed more important than ever. Later in this work we shall find additional support for the latter interpretation, when we reconstruct the phraseology hemitu Zaddikim at the end of the Demons of Death ('Beatitudes') text in Chapter 5 as 'they put to death the Righteous' (plural). The conjunction of 'the Righteousness' terminology with 'the Messiah', much in the manner that it is co-joined with 'the Teacher' and 'the Pourer' above (the Moreh and the Yoreh) in the definition of the Shiloh in Gen. 49:10, is of the utmost significance. This is consistent with the total ethos of Qumran and has, in fact, important resonance’s with presentations of the Melchizedek ideology ('the King of Righteousness') in relation to the eschatological priesthood set forth in Heb. 5:7 - 10 (including, interestingly enough, reference to 'the Logos of Righteousness' in Line 5:14). The explanation in the final decipherable line of this exegesis 'because he, i.e. the Messiah of Righteousness, kept ...the Torah' together with the others 'of the Community' is also important, not only for Qumran Messianic notions but for Qumran ideology as a whole and its overtones with early Christianity of the Jamesian mould. We have already mentioned that the Community Rule defines the 'sons of Zadok' in terms of 'keeping' or being 'Keepers of the Covenant'. This is a qualitative exegesis, not a genealogical one. It is reinforced in the Damascus Document's exegesis of Ezek. 44:15 - also qualitative and an eschatological element is added, that of 'the last DAYS'. These also have supernatural connotations, e.g. in CD, iv.3 and 7, 'they stand in the last DAYS' (as does the Yoreh haZedek)and 'justify the Righteous and condemn the Wicked'. If these notations are consistent, then the words 'keeping ...the Torah' also imply that the Messiah or Shiloh was also to be reckoned among 'the sons of Zadok'. It should also be clear that Zedek and Zadok are to be reckoned as variations of the same terminology - that is, the 'sons of Zadok' and 'sons of Zedek' are equivalent - and that allusions to Melchizedek amount simply to a further adumbration. Here, too, the allusion in 5.5 to 'the men of the Community' with 'the Messiah of Righteousness' as 'Keepers of the Covenant' implies that the Messiah has either already come, is eschatologically to return, or is, in fact, at that very moment connected to or among 'the Yahad' (Community). That the Community honours a Davidic-style, singular Messiah associated in some manner with the concept of Righteousness - a matter of some dispute in Dead Sea Scrolls studies heretofore - is no longer to be gainsaid. All these are very important conclusions indeed with serious implications for Qumran studies. This is the importance of publishing these texts completely and not in bits and pieces. The text ends in Column 6, a little anticlimactically, with portions from Gen. 49:20-21 about blessings on Asher and Napthali, of which little is intelligible. The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. items susceptible to impurity. Rather, they (74) must stay alone [outside the camps. And] it is also written, 'From the time when he shaves and bathes, let him [st]ay outside (75) [his tent seven d]ays.' But at present, while they are still impure, (76) those suffering from a skin disease are coming] home [w]ith holy items susceptible to impurity. You know (77) [that anyone who sins by inadvertence, who breaks a commandment] and is forgiven for it, must bring (78) a sin offering (but they are not doing so). [As for the intentionally disobedient, it is written, 'He is a despiser and a blasphemer.' (79) [While th]e[y suffer impurities caused by [s]kin diseases, they are not to be fed with ho[ly] food (80) until the sun rises on the eighth day (after they are cured). Concerning [impurity caused by contact with a dead] (81) person, we say that every (human) bone, whether it is [skeleton] (82) or still covered (with flesh), is governed by the statute for the dead person or those slain in battle. (83) As for the fornication taking place among the people, they are (supposed to be) a (84) Holy People, as it is written, 'Israel is Holy' (therefore, it is forbidden). The Second Letter On Works Reckoned As Righteousness (4Q397-399) (Plates 15 & 16) ('Some Works of the Law We Reckon as justifying you') That this text is a second letter is clearly signalled in Lines 29-30, quoted above, which refer to a first letter already having been written on the same subject - 'works reckoned as justifying you' (italics ours). Though fragments of the two letters are in the same handwriting, it is not clear that these are directly connected or on the same or succeeding columns. That the same scribe wrote both letters would not be either unexpected or surprising - nor would the possibility that both letters were already circulating as part of the same document or manuscript, as for instance 1 and 2 Corinthians or 1 and 2 Thessalonians noted above. The second letter is, in any event, extant in a single document. This short epistle of some 35 extant lines is also of the most far-reaching significance for Qumran studies, not only for all the reasons set forth in our discussion of the First Letter, but also because this text is clearly eschatological. The question then becomes, when were people thinking in such an eschatological manner, i.e. using expressions in daily correspondence like 'the End of DAYS' (13 and 24) or a less familiar one used here for the first time in the new materials we have been considering, 'the End Time' (15 and 33)? Together these terms are used four times in an extant document of only some 35 lines. This also distinguishes this letter to a certain extent from the first one, where they were not used, at least not in extant fragments. Besides these points, the exact nature and context of the 'split' between the group responsible for these writings and 'the majority of the people' is delineated here. Its words are pregnant with meaning: 'we broke with the majority of the people and refused to mix with or go along with them on these matters.' The word used in Line 7 is parash, the presumable root of the word 'Pharisee', but these are obviously not anything resembling normative Pharisees. The very issue of 'mixing' in Line 8 (cf. Line 87 above) is, of course, related to that of 'improper separation' and not 'separating clean from unclean' just discussed above. This sentence alone - known but not revealed for over 35 years would be sufficient to identify our group as .sectarian - at least according to their own evaluation. And it definitively identifies them as a group - a movement. Finally, the issues over which the split occurred are brought into stark relief. These are always firmly attached to 'the Law', repeatedly and unequivocally called here 'the Book of Moses' (11, 16, 24, and compare Line 6 of the last column of the Damascus Document below: 'the Torah of Moses'). Added to these are the Prophets, David (presumably Psalms), and some additional writings, probably Chronicles and the like (10-11); that is, we are at a point when the Bible, as we know it, has to a very considerable extent emerged and the Deuteronomic blessings and curses are recognized as being intimately connected with the arrival of 'the last DAYS' (23-24). These 'blessings and curses' will also be the focal point of the last column of the Damascus Document at the end of this Chapter. The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. Thus, 'It will be reckoned to you as Righteousness' (or in Paul's language, 'reckoned as justifying you'), your having done what is Upright and Good before Him, for your own Good and for that of Israel. 37 . A Pleasing Fragrance (Halakhah A - 4Q251) (Plate 17) The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered. fragment, we have one of the first expressions of a sensitivity to nature hitherto missing from the literature. Here the 'hills', 'valleys' and 'streams', 'the land of beauty', 'the depths of forests', 'the wilderness of the desert', 'its wilds' and 'deep wells', 'the highland woods and the cedars of Lebanon' are praised together with 'all their produce' - in a manner one felt had to be present at Qumran, but up to now was not. We have entitled Fragment 3.2 'The Community Council Curses Belial'. It is an almost perfect excommunication text of the kind at the end of the Damascus Document encountered in Chapter 6. Though that text was assigned, as we have seen, to 'the priest commanding over the Many' (presumably the high priest designate of the Community) and possibly the Mebakker / Bishop, this text is actually assigned to the Community Council. Once again the homogeneity of the literature at Qumran is demonstrated, i.e. this must be the very same Community Council so lovingly detailed in the Community Rule and other texts. It is to be recited by the Community Council in unison, but this Council according to other work is commanded by the Mebakker. If the latter is to be equated with 'the priest commanding the Many', then once again all our allusions have come full circle. Like the last column of the Damascus Document, the vehemence and militancy of this text is quite startling. These are no peaceful Essenes, nor do the practitioners of this kind of hatred love their enemies; rather in the style of 1QS,ix.21-2 and CD,vi.l4-15, they hate 'the sons of the Pit'. There is the usual vocabulary of 'Belial' and 'the sons of Belial', 'cursing', 'Darkness', 'the Pit', 'Evil', all punctuated, as in 1QS,ii, by repetitions of 'Amen, Amen'. In addition one gets new formulations, like 'the Angel of the Pit', 'the Spirit of Destruction', 'the abominations of Sheol'. An allusion to mastemato also occurs in 3.2.2, here descriptive of Belial, further confirming the basic circularity of these references to Satan, Belial and Mastemoth. Nor is there any sense of forgiveness here, but rather 'the fury of God's wrath' will last forever (3.2.10). Throughout the document as we have reconstructed it, one encounters additional familiar vocabulary like 'the Way' imagery, 'Glory', 'the Holy Names', 'the Glorious Names of God', 'mighty works', 'healing' and 'miraculous works'. These last are particularly interesting where the history of Christianity is concerned. But in addition, one has the paraphernalia of Jewish mysticism: 'wondrous Palaces', 'their Secrets', 'secret Truth', 'Treasure house of Understanding', and 'Miraculous Mysteries'. There are also 'the Fountain of Understanding' and 'the Fountain of Discovery', which have interesting reverberations with allusions in medieval Jewish poetry, as well as with the title of a treatise, the Fons Vitae (The Living Fountain) by its most celebrated practitioner, the famous eleventh-century Judeo-Arabic mystic poet of Spain, Solomon Ibn Gabirol. We have already seen a variation of this imagery in the Demons of Death (Beatitudes) in Chapter 5. This 'Living Fountain' imagery will recur later in this Chapter in further hymns, this time 'to the Poor', terminology also important for early Christian history in Palestine. It will be developed to its fullest degree in the Children of Salvation (Yerha') and the Mystery of Existence, with which we close this Chapter. The use of the word 'Glory' in texts such as these is not only interesting because of parallel New Testament usages, but also because of allusions like those in Josephus' description of the beginnings of the Zealot movement. He describes two Rabbis in the disturbance of 4 BC, just preceding the death of Herod, who encourage their followers to strike a blow against Rome and the Herodian family by pulling down the Roman eagle Herod had erected in defiance of all tradition over the entrance to the Temple. They do so in terms of the glory and immortality such zealous acts will gain for their practitioners (War 1.650). Finally the first line of this manuscript begins with allusions to 'the footstools of the feet of your Glory' from Gen. 49:10. The reader will recall this as the Shiloh Prophecy. It was subjected to exegesis in the Genesis Florilegium in Chapter 3, which interpreted the 'Shiloh' in terms of 'the Messiah of Righteousness who would arise at the end of DAYS'. Between these same 'feet' (those of 'the Shiloh') is the Mehokkek or 'Law-giver', not to mention 'the Sceptre', which were also interpreted in this context. This 'footstools'/'feet' imagery is carried further in A. 1.1 to 'standing' and 'walkway' allusions. The image of 'standing' to great heights is known in Pseudo-clementine tradition - those fourth-century Jewish Christian novellas. One of these, called the Recognitions (in which a figure meant to represent Paul attacks James in the Temple) describes someone it calls 'the Standing One', a great redeemer figure which 'stands' to a fantastic height. Shall we recite it, — but our Teacher Moses did not say it. Shall we not say it — but Jacob said it! [Hence] they enacted that it should be recited quietly. R. Isaac said, The School of R. Ammi said: This is to be compared to a king's daughter who smelled a spicy pudding.21 If she reveals [her desire], she suffers disgrace;22 if she does not reveal it, she suffers pain.23 So her servants began bringing it to her in secret. R. Abbahu said: They [the Sages] enacted that this should be recited aloud, on account of the resentment of heretics.24 But in Nehardea, where there are no heretics so far, they recite it quietly. Our Rabbis taught: Six things the inhabitants of Jericho did, three with the consent of the Sages, and three without the consent of the Sages. In ancient times this was done not by mathematical calculation, as nowaDAYS, but according to the exigencies of the moment, but this had to be done before Nisan actually commenced, v. THE DAY OF SHAVING THE BEARD, etc. The question was asked: What does it mean — the day of [the usual] shaving of one's beard when the lock of hair is left, or the [annual] shaving of the beard when the lock of hair is removed? — Come and hear: Both are taught distinctly: [In one Baraitha it is said]: The day of shaving one's beard when one's lock of hair is left; [in another it is said:] The day of shaving one's hair and of removing one's lock of hair. Said Rab Judah in the name of Samuel: They have yet another festival in Rome [which occurs] once every seventy years. Then a healthy man is brought and made to ride on a lame man; he is dressed in the attire of Adam,2 on his head is placed the scalp of R. Ishmael,3 and on his neck are hung pieces of fine gold to the weight of four zuzim,4 the market places [through which these pass] are paved with onyx stones, and the proclamation is made before him: ‘The reckoning of the ruler is wrong. The brother of our lord, the impostor! Let him who will see it see it; he who will not see it now will never see it. Of what avail is the treason to the traitor or deceit to the deceiver!’; and they concluded thus: Woe unto the one when the other will arise.’5 Said R. Ashi: the wording [of the proclamation] defeats their object:6 Had they said ‘Our lord's brother the impostor’,it would have accorded with their intention, but when they say6 The brother of our lord, the impostor, it may be taken to mean that it is their lord himself who is the impostor. And why does not our Tanna include this [festivity in the preceding Mishnah?] — He only enumerates those which occur year by year, but does not mention such as are not annual ones. Those are the Roman [annual festivals]. Which are the Persian ones? — Mutardi, Turyaskai, Muharnekai, Muharin.7 These then are those of the Romans and Persians, which are the Babylonian ones? — Muharnekai, Aknayata, Bahnani and the Tenth of Adar.8 Said R. Hanan b. Hisda in the name of Rab (some have it, ‘Said R. Hanan b. Raba in the name of Rab’): There are five appointed Temples of idol-worship: they are: The Temple of Bel in Babel,9 The Temple of Nebo in Kursi,10 Tar'ata which is in Mapug.11 Zerifa which is in Askelon,12 and Nishtra which is in Arabia.13 When R. Dimi came14 he said that to these had been added the market-place15 [with the idol] in ‘En-Beki and the Nidbakah of Acre [some call it Nitbara of Acre]16 . R. Dimi of Nahardea gave these in the reversed order: The market place of Acre, the Nidbakah of ‘En-Beki. Said R. Hanan son of R. Hisda to R. Hisda: What is meant by saying that these [Temples] are ‘appointed’? — He answered him: This is how your mother's father17 explained it,’ They are appointed permanently; regularly all the year round worship is taking place in them.’ Said Samuel: In the Diaspora18 it is only forbidden [to transact business with idolaters] on the actual festival DAYS alone.19 And is it forbidden even on the actual DAYS of the Festivals, did not Rab Judah declare it permissible to R. Bruna to buy wine and to R. Giddal to buy wheat on the Festival of the Travellers?20 — The Festival of the Travellers is different, as it is not a fixed one. 21 MISHNAH. WHEN AN IDOLATROUS [FESTIVAL] TAKES PLACE WITHIN A CITY IT IS PERMITTED [TO TRANSACT BUSINESS WITH HEATHEN] OUTSIDE IT; IF THE IDOLATROUS [FESTIVAL] TAKES PLACE OUTSIDE IT, [BUSINESS] IS PERMITTED WITHIN IT. HOW ABOUT GOING THERE? IF THE ROAD LEADS SOLELY TO THAT PLACE, IT IS FORBIDDEN;22 BUT IF ONE CAN GO BY IT TO ANY OTHER PLACE, IT IS PERMITTED. GEMARA. What may be regarded as OUTSIDE IT? — Said R. Simeon b. Lakish, such as, for example, the bazaar of Gaza.23 Some report this as follows: R. Simeon b. Lakish asked of R. Hanina, How about the market-place of Gaza?24 — He replied: Have you never gone to Tyre25 and seen an Israelite and an idolater ____________________ (1) Tosef. ibid. This must refer to clean animals which are not generally employed for personal use of the King, which proves that burning is not confined to articles in use. (2) In garments of skin (Gen. III, 21). XXXII, 32 and he halted upon his thigh); and to Esau, representing Rome, impersonated by the healthy man; The reckoning which is pronounced as wrong alludes Jacob's prediction as to what would happen to his descendants at the end of DAYS (Gen. XLIX, 1) the treason being an allusion to Jacob's deceitful gaining of the paternal blessing which was intended for Esau, and the concluding threat is a warning to Israel for whom the rising of Rome would be fraught with trouble. Quite a different interpretation is offered by Rapaport (‘Erek Millin s.v. lht). According to him, Samuel here presents an account which reached him of one of the Ludi Saeculares, the spectacular carnivals and pompous pageants, of which altogether ten are known to Roman history. This one must have been arranged by the Roman Emperor Philippus, about 247 C.E., who introduced into the pageant the spectacle of a halting dancer ridden upon by a strong man. This was intended to satyrise and discredit P's rival, Decius, who pretended to be a friend and ‘brother’ of the Emperor, yet had accepted the crown which P. fondly hoped would be handed to his own son. The lame dancer with a larva, or kind of mask, tied at his neck (described by the Rabbi as R. Ishmael's scalp), thus impersonated Decius the treacherous ‘ruler’ whose plans and plottings are declared as wrong. The rider was impersonating Philippus. When he (or his son) rises woe betide his rival. The exclamation ‘Let him who will see it etc.’ alludes to the festivity which occurs but once in a lifetime. The fact that Samuel lived till 3 or 13 years after the date of this Game lends added feasibility to this interpretation. (6) Lit., Their own mouth (i.e., words) causes them to stumble. They that "digged" are those of Israel who repented and departed from the land of Judah to sojourn in the land of Damascus. God called them all "princes" because they went in search of Him, and their glory was never gainsaid by any man's mouth. The term "mehoqeq" refers to the man who expounds the Law. Isaiah has employed an analogous piece of imagery when in allusion to the Law he has spoken of God's "producing a tool for His work." As for the "nobles of the people," these are the men that come, throughout the Era of Wickedness, to delve the well, using as their staves the statutes which the Lawgiver prescribed for them to walk in. Without such implements, they would, indeed, never achieve their goal until such time as the true Expositor arises at the end of DAYS. Of the obligation of the Covenant: All that enter the Covenant with no intention of going into the sanctuary to keep the flame alive on the altar do so in vain. They have as good as shut the door. When they had passed on (Some distance), Moses said To his attendant: " Bring us Our early meal; truly We have suffered much fatigue At this (stage of) our journey." 63. He replied : " Sawest thou (What happened) when we Betook ourselves to the rock ? I did indeed forget (About) the Fish : none but Satan made me forget To tell (you) about it: It took its course through The sea in a marvellous way! " 64. Moses said : " That was what We were seeking after: " So they went back On their footsteps, following (The path they had come). Fig. 1 There could thus be no doubt, as attested by the holiest Scriptures, that the Fountain of Life, or the Stream of Eternity, did exist, the only problem was—where, and how to find it. The eighteenth Sura of the Koran seemed to offer some important clues. It goes on to relate the three paradoxes of life that Moses was shown once he located the Servant of God. Then the same section of the Koran continues to describe three other episodes: first, about a visit to a land where the Sun sets; then to a land where the Sun rises—that is, in the east; and finally to a land beyond the second land, where the mythical people of 8 The Stairway to Heaven Gog and Magog (the biblical contenders at the End of DAYS) were causing untold mischief on Earth. To put an end to this trouble, the hero of the tale, here named Du-al'karnain ("Possessor of the Two Horns"), filled up the pass between two steep mountains with blocks of iron and poured over them molten lead, creating such an awesome barrier that even the mighty Gog and Magog were powerless to scale it. Separated, the two could cause no more hardship on Earth. The word Karnain, in Arabic as in Hebrew, means both Double Horns and Double Rays. The three additional episodes, following immediately after the tale of the Mysteries of Moses, thus appear to retain as their hero Moses, who could well have been nicknamed Du-al'karnain because his face "was with rays"—radiated—after he had come down from Mount Sinai, where he had met the Lord face to face. Yet popular medieval beliefs attributed the epithet and the journeys to the three lands to Alexander the Great, the Macedonian king who in the fourth century B.C. conquered most of the ancient world, reaching as far as India. This popular belief, interchanging Moses and Alexander, stemmed from traditions concerning the conquests and adventures of Alexander the Great. These included not only the feat in the land of Gog and Magog, but also an identical episode of a dry, dead fish that came back to life when Alexander and his cook had found the Fountain of Life! The reports concerning Alexander's adventures that were current in Europe and the Near East in medieval times were based upon the supposed writings of the Greek historian Callisthenes of Olynthus. He was appointed by Alexander to record the exploits, triumphs and adventures of his Asiastic expedition; but he died in prison, having offended Alexander, and his writings have mysteriously perished. Centuries later, however, there began to circulate in Europe a Latin text purporting to be a translation of the lost original writings of Callisthenes. Scholars speak of this text as "pseudoCallisthenes." For many centuries it was believed that the many translations of the Exploits of Alexander that were current in Europe and the Middle East, all stemmed from this Latin pseudo-Callisthenes. But it was later discovered that other, parallel versions existed in many languages—including Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Syriac, Armenian and Ethiopic—as well as at least three versions in Greek. The various versions, some tracing their origins to Alexandria of the second century B.C., differ here and there; but by and large, their overwhelming similarities do indicate a common source— perhaps the writings of Callisthenes after all, or—as is sometimes claimed— copies of Alexander's letters to his mother Olympias and to his teacher Aristotle. The miraculous adventures with which we are concerned began after Alexander completed the conquest of Egypt. From the texts it is neither clear in which direction Alexander set his course, nor is it certain that the episodes are arranged in an accurate chronological or geographical order. In Search of Paradise 9 One of the very first episodes, however, may explain the popular confusion between Alexander and Moses: apparently Alexander attempted to leave Egypt as Moses did, by parting the waters and getting his followers to cross the sea on foot. Reaching the sea, Alexander decided to part it by building in its midst a wall of molten lead, and his masons "continued to pour lead and molten matter into the water until the structure rose above its surface. Then he built upon it a tower and a pillar, upon which he carved his own figure, having two horns upon his head." And he wrote upon the monument: "Whosoever hath come into this place and would sail over the sea, let him know that I have shut it up." Having thus shut out the waters, Alexander and his men began to cross the sea. As a precaution, however, they sent ahead some prisoners. But as they reached the tower in the midst of the waters, "the waves of the sea leapt up upon them (the prisoners) and the sea swallowed them up and they all perished. . . . When the Two-Horned One saw this, he was afraid of the sea with a mighty fear," and gave up the attempt to emulate Moses. Eager, however, to discover the "darkness" on the other side of the sea, Alexander made several detours, during which he purportedly visited the sources of the river Euphrates and of the river Tigris, studying there "the secrets of the heavens and the stars and the planets." Leaving his troops behind, Alexander returned toward the Land of Darkness, reaching a mountain named Mushas at the edge of the desert. After several DAYS of marching, he saw "a straight path which had no wall, and it had no high and no low place in it." He left his few trusted companions and proceeded alone. After a journey of twelve DAYS and twelve nights, "he perceived the radiance of an angel"; but as he drew nearer, the angel was "a flaming fire." Alexander realized that he had reached "the mountain from which the whole world is surrounded." The angel was no less puzzled than Alexander. "Who art thou, and for what reason art thou here, O mortal?" the angel asked, and wondered how Alexander had managed "to penetrate into this darkness, which no other man hath been able to do." To which Alexander replied that God himself had guided him and gave him strength to "have arrived in this place, which is Paradise." To convince the reader that Paradise, rather than Hell, was reachable through underground passages, the ancient author then introduced a long discourse between the angel and Alexander on matters of God and Man. The angel then urged Alexander to return to his friends; but Alexander persisted in seeking answers to the mysteries of Heaven and Earth, God and Men. In the end Alexander said that he would leave only if he were granted something that no man had ever obtained before. Complying, "the angel said unto him: I will tell thee something whereby thou mayest live and not die." The Two-Horned said: 'Say on.' And the angel said unto him: 10 providing details, hinting secrets about the very same subject, person or event that is unavailable otherwise! Finally, for centuries, people have waited for the “very soon” return of Christ without having a clue to when that day would arrive. How soon was “very soon”? Nevertheless, Jesus was always “around”. He was always ever-present on earth and He always will be. Every century, He would be manifested and living in a new body, under a new name, trying hard to do all that He could for the benefit of mankind. He was a man who always found Himself against and amidst all odds. It always was one man against the rest. How could one man achieve so much in just 1,900 years? – a feat that certainly would not be possible without LORD’s help and grace. We are at “the end of DAYS” - living in an era that is just years away from the start of a new 1,900-year long Jesus Cycle. The previous Jesus Cycle halted in year 1919. The new one will start in 2019 AD and will end in year 3919 AD [2019 AD + 1,900 years = 3919 AD]. In other words, we are at halfway, at center, middle point between our past and future. Aftermath 353 introduced the concept of one omnipotent god—a step toward the monotheism of the biblical Prophets. But that confuses the belief in one God Almighty with a religion in which one god is just superior to the other gods, a polytheism in which one god dominates the others. In the words of Enuma elish, Marduk became "the Enlil of the gods," their "Lord." No longer residing in Egypt, Marduk/Ra became Amen, "The Unseen One." Egyptian hymns to him, nevertheless, proclaimed his supremacy, also connoting the new theology that he was now the "god of gods," "more powerful of might than the other gods." In one set of such hymns, composed in Thebes and discovered written on what is known as the Leiden Papyrus, the chapters begin with a description of how after the ' 'islands which are in the midst of the Mediterranean" recognized his name as "high and mighty and powerful," the peoples of "the hill countries came down to thee in wonder; every rebellious country was filled of thy terror." Listing other lands that switched their obedience to Amen-Ra, the sixth chapter continued by describing the god's arrival in the Land of the Gods—as we understand it, Mesopotamia—and the ensuing construction there of Amon's new temple—as we understand it, the Esagil. The text reads almost like that of Gudea's description of all the rare building materials brought over from lands near and far: "The mountains yield blocks of stone for thee, to make the great gates of thy temple; vessels are upon the sea, seafaring craft are at the quays, loaded and navigated unto thy presence." Every land, every people, send propitiatory offerings. But not only people pay Amen homage; so do all the other gods. Here are some of the verses from the following chapters of the papyrus extolling Amen-Ra as the king of the gods: The company of the gods which came forth from heaven assembled at thy sight, announcing: "Great of glory, Lord of Lords . . . He is the Lord!'' 354 WHEN TIME BEGAN The enemies of the Universal Lord are overthrown; his foes who were in heaven and on Earth are no more. Thou art triumphant, Amen-Ra! Thou art the god more powerful of might than all the other gods. Thou art the sole Sole One. Universal god: Stronger than all the cities is thy city Thebes. Ingeniously, the policy was not to eliminate the other Great Anunnaki but to control and supervise them. When, in time, the Esagila sacred precinct was built with appropriate grandeur, Marduk invited the other leading deities to come and reside in Babylon, in special shrines that were built for each one of them within the precinct. The sixth tablet of the epic in its Babylonian version states that after Marduk's own temple-abode was completed, and shrines for the other Anunnaki were erected, Marduk invited all of them to a banquet. "This is Babylon, the place that is your home!" he said. "Make merry in its precincts, occupy its broad places." By acceding to his invitation, the others would literally have made Babylon what its name—Babili—had meant: "Gateway of the gods." According to this Babylonian version, the other gods took their seats in front of the lofty dais on which Marduk had seated himself. Among them were "the seven gods of destiny." After the banqueting and the performance of all the rites, after verifying "that the norms had been fixed according to all the portents," Enlil raised the bow, his weapon, and laid it before the gods. Recognizing the symbolic declaration of "peaceful coexistence" by the leader of the Enlilites, Enki spoke up: May our son, the Avenger, be exalted; Let his sovereignty be surpassing, without a rival. Aftermath 355 May he shepherd the human race to the end of DAYS; without forgetting, let them acclaim his ways. Enumerating all the worshiping duties that the people were to perform in honor of Marduk and the other gods gathered in Babylon, Enki had this to say to the other Anunnaki: As for us, by his names pronounced, he is our god! Let us now proclaim his Fifty Names! Proclaiming his Fifty Names—granting Marduk the Rank of Fifty that had been Enlil's and Ninurta's—Marduk became the God of Gods. Not a sole God, but the god to whom the other gods had to pay obeisance. If the new religion proclaimed in Babylon was a far cry from a monotheistic theology, scholars (especially at the turn of this century) wondered and heatedly debated the extent to which the notion of a Trinity had originated in Babylon. It was recognized that Babylon's New Religion stressed the lineage Enki-Marduk-Nabu and that the divinity of the Son was obtained from a Holy Father. It was pointed out that Enki referred to him as "our Son," that his very name, MAR.DUK, meant "Son of the Pure Place" (P. Jensen), "Son of the Cosmic Mountain" (B. Meissner), "Son of the Brilliant Day" (F.J. Delitzsch), "Son of Light" (A. Deimel) or simply "The True Son" (W. Paulus). The fact that all those leading Assyriologists were German was primarily due to the particular interest that the Deutsche Orient-Gesellschaft—an archaeological society that also served the political and intelligence-gathering ends of Germany—had conducted an unbroken chain of excavations at Babylon from 1899 until almost the end of World War 1 when Iraq fell to the British in 1917. The unearthing of ancient Babylon (though the remains were by and large those from the seventh century B.C.) amid the growing realization that the biblical creation tales were of Mesopotamian origin, led to heated scholarly debates under the theme Babel und 356 WHEN TIME BEGAN Bibel—Babylon and Bible, and then to theological ones. Was Marduk Urtyp Christie? studies (as one so titled by Witold Paulus) asked, after the tale of Marduk's entombment and subsequent reappearance to become the dominant deity was discovered. The issue, never resolved, was just let evaporate as postWorld War I Europe, and especially Germany, faced more pressing problems. What is certain is that the New Age that Marduk and Babylon ushered in circa 2000 B.C. manifested itself in a new religion, a polytheism in which one god dominated all the others. Reviewing four millennia of Mesopotamian religion. Thorkild Jacobsen (The Treasures of Darkness) identified as the main change at the beginning of the second millennium B.C. the emergence of national gods in lieu of the universal gods of the preceding two millennia. The previous plurality of the divine powers, Jacobsen wrote, "required the ability to distinguish, evaluate and choose" not just between the gods but also between good and evil. By assuming all the other gods' powers, Marduk abolished such choices. "The national character of Marduk," Jacobsen wrote (in a study titled Toward the Image of Tammuz), created a situation in which "religion and politics became more inextricably linked" and in which the gods, "through signs and omens, actively guided the policies of their countries." The emergence of guiding politics and religion by "signs and omens" was indeed a major innovation of the New Age. It was not a surprising development in view of the importance that celestial signs and omens had played in determining the true beginning of the zodiacal change and in deciding who would become supreme on Earth. For many millennia it was the word of the Seven Who Determine the Destinies, Anu, Enlil, and the other Anunnaki leaders, who made the decisions affecting the Anunnaki; Enlil, by himself, was the Lord of the Command as far as Mankind was concerned. Now, signs and omens in the heavens guided the decisions. Aftermath 357 In the "prophecy texts" (one of which we have earlier quoted) the principal gods played a role alongside or within the framework of the celestial omens. Under the New Age, the celestial omens—planetary conjunctions, eclipses, lunar halos, stellar backgrounds, and so on—were sufficient by themselves, and no godly intervention or participation was required: the heavens alone foretold the fates. Babylonian texts, and those of neighboring nations in the second and first millennia B.C., are replete with such Omina and their interpretation. A whole science, if one so wishes to call it, developed as time went on, with special beru (best translated "fortune teller") priests on hand to interpret observations of celestial phenomena. At first the predictions, continuing the trend that began at the time of the Third Dynasty of Ur, concerned themselves with affairs of state— the fate of the king and his dynasty and the fortunes of the land: When a halo surrounds the Moon and Jupiter stands within it, there will be an invasion of the army of Aharru. When the Sun reaches its zenith and is dark, the unrighteousness of the land will come to naught. When Venus draws near Scorpio, evil winds will come to the land. When in the month Siwan Venus shall appear in Cancer, the king will have no rival. When a halo surrounds the Sun and its opening points to the south, a south wind will blow. If a south wind shall blow on the day of the Moon's disappearance, it will rain from the heavens. When Jupiter appears at the beginning of the vear, in that vear corn will be plentiful. Data from Mars orbiters and landers have suggested that any past water on the Red Planets’ surface probably came from subsurface moisture bubbling up from underground. But a new study of Martian soil data implies that Mars’ atmosphere was once thick enough to hold moisture and that dew or even drizzle hit the ground. Geoscientists at the University of California Berkeley combined data from the Viking 1 and 2 landers, the Pathfinder rover, and the current rovers Spirit and Opportunity. Isaiah 51: 11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. In the 102nd Psalm, the dust and stone of Mars are mentioned: “For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.” As a result of Adam and Eve’s breaking God's law, Adam is cursed by God: “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" (Genesis 3:19). Was Adam created on Mars? Did God’s “dust to dust” curse actually allude to Adam’s future voyage from and back to Mars? May be. Adam, in Hebrew means “red”. Mars is known as the “red planet” due its iron core and its iron rust surface dust. As we have seen in the 87th Psalm, Zion is: 1. Planet Mars. 2. Where Olympus Mons, the “Most High”, the highest mountain in our solar system is located at. 3. Where the LORD dwells in. 4. Where a remnant among the people of Israel will be transported up to in year 2060 or 2070 AD [Psalms 90]. 5. People born on Mars will have extra-long life spans. 6. The LORD will count and write up those who are born on Mars. 7. The [almost] immortals born on Mars will be special in the eyes of the LORD and those born on earth. 8. The water, the fountain, the “springs” of immortality are located on Mars. 9. The LORD will personally and exclusively build up [“establish”] Mars Introduction The 8th Psalm starts with the verse that reads: “O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens”. The Hebrew word for name “shem” has two meanings: 1) Name 2) Spaceship The “spaceship” alternative is not foreign to the readers of Zecharia Sitchin – the author of the Earth Chronicles. “How excellent is thy name in all the earth” reads the 8th Psalm in allusion to the name, the spaceship that either landed at or hovered above a site on earth within 1908. “Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered … at the blast …” goes on the 15th verse. When we search through the major events of 1908, there is only one site on earth that could have hosted the historic event that year - Tunguska, Russia, the site of the yet-to-be solved Tunguska Explosion. The astronomical blast was worth a 1,000 atomic bombs fired all at once. This “unofficial” visit of the LORD was made in emergency (as 1908 was not a Jubilee Year) so that the LORD could visit “son of man” in person. “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?” reads the 4th verse. Who exactly is this “son of man” mentioned in the 8th Psalm, 4th verse? And why did the LORD, the Creator of heaven and earth, visit him? The Tunguska Explosion occurred on June 30, 1908. Within the same month, the “Son of God” King Edward VII was also in Russia for a visit to his cousin Tsar Nicholas II. Could the “son of man” be him? Rasputin moved in the palace of the Tsar the same year. Did the LORD land on or hover above the Tunguska site in his spaceship to visit Rasputin in person? The town Rasputin was born in (Tyumen Oblast) is roughly 1,500 miles away from the Tunguska site by bird flight. As we have studied in 1901, Rasputin was a pilgrim. He could walk and travel for thousands of miles, for DAYS without minding food and shelter. He had walked all the way to Athens and Jerusalem on foot – a round-trip travel that started (in 1901) and ended (in 1903) at Tyumen Oblast, Russia. Finally, within the same year, the same month of the Tunguska Explosion (June 1908) Dalai Lama (“Ocean of Wisdom”), the ruler and the head of Tibet was in exile at Mount Wutai, China - roughly about 1,500 miles away from the Tunguska site just the same. The “Ancient of DAYS” visited the “son of man” at or near Tunguska in 1908. It was a Turk who was brought near to the LORD of Hosts (“Ancient of DAYS”) on the day of the Tunguska Explosion. The “Son of God” of 1902-1910 was King Edward VII of Britain. The “Son of God” of 1989 and even today is still George H.W. Bush of US. Both were crowned (or inaugurated) seven years after a grand planetary alignment - a syzygy, as all Sons of God in history have always been. In order to name the “son of man” and the “Ancient of DAYS” mentioned in the Bible, we need to study the other books of the Old Testament. In our search for “Son of man”, we are now left with two candidates: Rasputin and Dalai Lama. Mount Wutai Mount Wutai (Chinese: ???; pinyin: W?tái Sh?n; literally "Five Plateau Mountain"), also known as Wutai Mountain or Qingliang Shan, located in Shanxi, China, is one of the Four Sacred Mountains in Chinese Buddhism. The mountain is home to many of China's most important monasteries and temples. Mount Wutai's cultural heritage consist of 53 sacred monasteries, and they were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.[1] Each of the four mountains are viewed as the abode or place of practice (dàocháng; ??) of one of the four great bodhisattvas. Wutai is the home of the Bodhisattva of wisdom, Manjusri or Wenshu (Traditional: ??) in Chinese. Mount Wutai also has an enduring relationship with Tibetan Buddhism.[2] It takes its name from its unusual topography, consisting of five rounded peaks (North, South, East, West, Central), of which the North peak, called Beitai Ding or Yedou Feng, is the highest, and indeed the highest point in northern China. Wutai was the first of the four mountains to be identified and is often referred to as "first among the four [Page 175 Paragraph 5] “The Son of man came with the clouds of heaven” reads Daniel 7:13, hinting that Dalai Lama followed a path above the mountains to fulfill his rendezvous with the LORD of Hosts, Ancient of DAYS on June 30, 1908! The site of the historic meeting is not clear. It had to be Mount Wutai, China or Tunguska, Russia. The LORD, the “Ancient of DAYS” met “son of man” Dalai Lama on the day of the historic explosion, on June 30, 1908 – either on Mount Wutai, China, or at Tunguska, Russia, or somewhere in between. The aftermath of the Ultimate Appointment changed the world forever. The US President in charge at Washington D.C. was to have dominion over the three continents the Ottoman Empire reigned upon from then on [including Israel, the Holy Land], not the Ottoman Sultan of Constantinople (Istanbul). Harding nominated Taft to take his place. Introduction The historic blast known as the Tunguska Explosion occurred on June 30, 1908 in Tunguska, Siberia [Russia]. At the 10th anniversary of the astronomical blast, in year 1918 the 18th Psalm points at, the explosion is brought up to our attention once again. The Ancient of DAYS” of Daniel 7 [that further provides details of the Tunguska Event] was no other than the LORD Himself who visited “the son of man”, the Dalai Lama of the day, Thubten Gyatso [who was in exile at Mount Wutai, China about 1,500 miles South-East of Tunguska by bird flight] on the day of the Tunguska Explosion [June 30, 1908]. The “name” of the LORD that was “in all the earth” was no other than the “spaceship” of the LORD as the alternative definition of the Hebrew word for “name” [shem] very well asserts. The year of the historic, astronomical, divine and the Ultimate Meeting! Of “Ancient of DAYS” and “Son of Man”! Right here on earth! At or near Tunguska, Russia – the reason of the yet-to-be solved Tunguska Explosion of the same year! The “Son of man” mentioned in the verses is no other than "His Holiness" Dalai Lama of the day, Thubten Gyatso, who reigned as the “Dalai Lama”, the ruler and the head of Tibet from 1879 to 1933. It was related of R. Johanan b. Zakkai that no man ever gave him greeting first, even a heathen in the street. A favourite saying of Raba was: The goal of wisdom is repentance and good deeds, so that a man should not study Torah and Mishnah and then despise15 his father and mother and teacher and his superior in wisdom and rank, as it says, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a good understanding have all they that do thereafter.16 It does not say, ‘that do’,17 but ‘that do thereafter’, which implies, that do them for their own sake and not for other motives.18 If one does them for other motives, it were better that he had not been created. A favourite saying of Rab was: [The future world is not like this world.]19 In the future world there is no eating nor drinking nor propagation nor business nor jealousy nor hatred nor competition, but the righteous sit with their crowns on their heads feasting on the brightness of the divine presence, as it says, And they beheld God, and did eat and drink. 20 [Our Rabbis taught]:21 Greater is the promise made by the Holy One, blessed be He, to the women than to the men; for it says, Rise up, ye women that are at ease; ye confident daughters, give ear unto my speech.22 Rab said to R. Hiyya: Whereby do women earn merit?
